Full-time Probationary Teacher - Certified in Special Education 7-12
Must be NYS certified in Special Education 7-12. Preference given to candidates also certified in Secondary Mathematics.
Responsibilities/Experience:
-Delivering specially designed instruction to students, grades 9-12, to prepare them for success on the NYS Regents Exams
-Shared responsibilities as a co-teaching team to deliver high quality, Regents-based instruction to students grades 9-12.
-Providing academic support through AIS and other academic support settings.
-Case management in overseeing progress monitoring and IEP development of special education students grades 9-12.
-Providing transition planning support
-Planning and collaborating with district staff and out of district partners
-Other responsibilities deemed necessary by the building principal and/or district administration.
Preferences given to candidates with:
*Exceptional instructional skills and experience with Explicit Direct Instructional Practices
*Successful classroom and behavioral management strategies
*Exemplary communication skills
*A willingness to involve all stakeholders in a student's educational plan and success
*A belief in educating and preparing all students to succeed in a changing world.
