Machine Shop Superintendent

System One has an immediate need for a Machine Shop Superintendent for our client in Chattanooga, TN. This position offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

*Must be local to or willing to relocate to Chattanooga, TN

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervises manufacturing personnel.

• Directs and supervises shipping & receiving personnel to accurately tract, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments to meet customer needs.

• Re sponsible for delegation and follow-up of day-to-day activities among direct reports.

• Supports and continually improves strict guidelines for manufacturing safety program.

• Manages maintenance program for all manufacturing equipment

• Drives consistent continuous improvement culture within manufacturing

• Directs manufacturing personnel through implementation of work instruction to ensure customer technical and schedule requirements are achieved

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 8 years minimum manufacturing management experience in high specification markets, specifically machining of closer tolerance parts

• Machinist background preferred

• Proven ability to craft a departmental vision, motivate, and effectively lead the manufacturing team to achieve goals

• Associates Degree in related technical field - BS degree a plus

• Ability to make management decisions in a fast paced, complex, and fluid manufacturing environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical instructions as well as vision for the department

• Ability to professionally communicate with customers and vendors
