About the Role

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Urogynecology & Women’s Health, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to women experiencing pelvic health concerns. From urodynamic testing and pelvic floor therapy support to pre- and post-operative care, you will ensure that patients receive personalized, expert care in a supportive and patient-centered environment.

Working closely with registered nurses, physicians, and pelvic health specialists, you will assist in clinical procedures, patient education, and care coordination, ensuring that every woman feels heard, empowered, and well-supported throughout her healthcare journey.

Essential Functions Specialized Urogynecology & Women’s Health Care:

  • Provide direct patient care in a urogynecology clinic setting, assisting with exams, screenings, and diagnostic tests.

  • Support patients through pelvic health evaluations, urodynamic testing, pessary fittings, and post-surgical follow-ups.

  • Assist in procedures such as cystoscopy, bladder scans, pelvic floor therapy assessments, and minor in-office surgical procedures.

  • Educate patients on pelvic floor disorders, treatment options, bladder and bowel management, post-surgical care, and preventive strategies.

  • Ensure that patients feel supported, valued, and confident in their care plans.

    Assessment:

  • Assist in collecting and recording patient health histories, vital signs, and medical information.

  • Observe and recognize patterns in patient symptoms, escalating concerns as needed.

  • Help identify urgent and emergent urogynecological needs, ensuring timely intervention.

    Planning & Evaluation:

  • Work alongside registered nurses and physicians to develop and modify individualized care plans for patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, or prolapse.

  • Provide patient education tailored to urogynecology conditions, helping women understand diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care strategies.

  • Connect patients with specialized resources, such as physical therapy, behavioral health, or minimally invasive surgical options.

    Communication & Documentation:

  • Effectively communicate patient concerns, treatment plans, and care updates to the healthcare team.

  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation in patient medical records for seamless care coordination.

  • Use SBARQ (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation, and Question) for structured communication in clinical settings.

    Professional Accountability & Evidence-Based Practice:

  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in urogynecology and women’s pelvic health.

  • Commit to ongoing learning and professional development, including tuition reimbursement opportunities.

  • Adhere to state nursing regulations, the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and ANA Bill of Rights.

    Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with urogynecology specialists, pelvic health therapists, and other care providers.

  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

  • Accept feedback and engage in continuous professional growth.

    Other Duties:

  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support patient care and clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience Requirements Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED – Required.

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program – Required.

    Experience:

  • One year of relevant experience – Preferred.

    Licensure & Certification:

  • Current LPN license in the applicable state – Required.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in computer skills for managing patient records and administrative tasks.

  • Strong phone etiquette with a professional and compassionate approach to patient communication.
