About these roles:

The Veteran Employment Transition (VET) Program is a nationwide 8-week Spring and Fall development program that converts directly to a full-time opportunity based on performance. We're hiring a class of 35 - 45 to begin on September 25th starting with an intensive training and orientation led by professional instructors and senior Wells Fargo employees. You'll network with your peers and Wells Fargo leaders while developing your skills and knowledge of our financial products and services before joining a team of experienced Wells Fargo employees for on-the-job training and development. Program Expectations:

  • Must be able to start on September 25, 2024 and attend the full duration of the 8-week internship program

  • Must be off active duty no later than September 24, 2024. (Only exceptions: terminal leave and/or traditional Guard or Reserve status, these are eligible)

Program Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Service in any branch of the United States military

  • Able to work on the first day of the program, September 25, 2024

In these roles you will:

The Financial Accounting Group has the following opportunity within Corporate Finance:

Financial Accountant (Available locations: Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Des Moines, IA)

  • Perform complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, developing financial statements and regulatory reports

  • Gather and review financial data for financial and regulatory reports

  • Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy

  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications

  • Analyze projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems

  • Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal controls policies

  • Provide functional advice and training to individuals

  • Provide support for compliance and risk management requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with stakeholders throughout the enterprise

  • Provide consultation to more experienced leadership for financial accounting related matters

  • Provide accounting support for local sales tax, property tax and income tax processes

  • Participate in projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods, or systems

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • BA/BS degree in or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting

  • Financial services or lease accounting industry experience

  • Experience working in a CPA firm

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

  • Experience with data analytic tools (Hyperion, Excel, Power BI, Axiom, and Alteryx)

  • Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.

  • Experience supporting line of business or group controllers

  • Regulatory reporting experience

  • Experience with Excel, PowerBi and/or Essbase

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations:

  • Adhere to the Wells Fargo Return To Office (RTO) stipulations which require employees to work in an approved core location, 3 days a week

Pay Range:

Charlotte: $35.00 - $55.00

Dallas: $35.00 - $55.00

Des Moines: $35.00 - $55.00

Actual VET Program compensation is determined by location, experience, and qualifications of the job.
