V.I. Housing Finance Authority HAFP Eligibility Reviewer (Part-Time Temporary) in Charlotte Amalie, Virgin Islands

DESCRIPTION The Homeowners Assistance Fund Program (HAFP) Eligibility Reviewer is responsible for application processing to include a full range of case management duties to determine the preliminary eligibility of HAFP applicants. This is a temporary position and will be reporting to the ARP Grant Administrator. # ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Case management functions include performing outreach to applicants to obtain requisite supporting documents needed to complete their preliminary eligibility determination. - Coordinating and providing timely assistance to applicants by scheduling in-person/phone appointments as needed. - Review applications and supporting documents for completeness and to ensure that the content is appropriate. - Maintain application portal and monitor case progress. Update case records/notes with relevant information. - Prepare/draft correspondence to applicants and servicers, as appropriate, utilizing template letters. - Prepare weekly reports summarizing the status of all processed applications. - Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss program status, identify issues, problem-solve, and implement new strategies to improve service delivery (program performance). - Participate in HAFP community engagement and outreach activities. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: - Education: High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience: 3-5 years of experience in social work, case management, compliance, and/or administrative experience. Federal programs case management experience preferred. - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performing duties including confidential matters. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to read and interpret program regulations and related technical guidance and apply, as necessary to ensure program compliance. Computer literate to include Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and desktop publishing. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure managing multiple assignments simultaneously. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all assignments. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision. Ability to use diplomacy and discretion in dissemination information. Ability to properly use all standard office equipment. Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole desired. SALARY: $41,600-52,000 per annum depending upon qualifications.
