Kitchen & Bath Designer Description (Revised October 2023)
Job Summary
Kitchen and Bath Designers are expected to maintain a positive representation of Cleaver Farm and Home by providing an
outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a Kitchen and Bath Designer is to assist
customers during all stages of kitchen and bath projects from design to completion.
Duties/Responsibilities
? Qualify customers to learn about what they need
and uncover who they are working with to better
serve them or to discover opportunities for new
trade relationships.
? Daily showroom coverage in-store, handling trade
accounts and walk-in customers.
? Provide excellent customer service both in person,
on the phone (including text), and email.
? Daily follow up and follow through on customer bids
and orders.
? Keep customers informed and oversee order
processing until product has been delivered to the
customers satisfaction.
? Knowledge of point-of-sale systems in order to
accurately complete sales/returns, assist with price
lookup, and create special and stock orders.
? Notify customers of upcoming promotions and new
products.
? Maintain product knowledge and keep current with
industry trends and innovations.
? Build and maintain business relationships with trade
professionals and understand project management
responsibilities to ensure high quality service and
customer satisfaction.
? Performs other related duties as assigned.
? Adheres to all store policy and safety standards.
Required Skills/Abilities
? Possess the skills and experience to guide a
customer through all phases of a project from space
planning and product selection through installation
and project completion.
? Emphasis on building and maintaining trade
accounts that create a solid foundation of recurring
sales and future growth.
? Professional attitude with outstanding customer
service, communication, and listening skills.
? A working knowledge of the products contained in
the store and lumberyard and willingness to
continue to develop product knowledge.
? Strong organization and multi-tasking skills with the
ability to think independently and problem solve.
? Strong communication skills are required to work
with a diverse group of customers to generate
opportunities and close sales.
? Client organization skills.
? Knowledge computer systems including email,
Microsoft Office applications, basic Internet usage.
? Able to work a flexible schedule, including every
other Saturday and occasional evenings during
special events.
? On-time, reliable attendance for scheduled work
days.
? Work without constant supervision.
Education and Experience
? Prior experience in kitchen and bath design is a must
? AutoCAD
? 20/20 Design
Physical Requirements
? Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
? Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance: may lift over 25 pounds with assistance.
