Job Description Summary

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven Finance Intern (12 months) to play a key role in our Pharmaceutical Diagnostics’ (PDx) Cash FP&A Team, working with the UKI and Senior Cash Flow Analyst, covering multiple aspects of finance from financial planning and analysis, reporting, cash management and more. To be successful as a Finance Intern, you should have strong analytical skills, be a clear communicator, proficient in excel and adaptable to working in changing and ambiguous situations both with the team and autonomously.

A Finance Internship within GE HealthCare (GEHC) is designed to enable undergraduates pursing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to gain hands-on work experience as the foundation of their professional lives. As an Intern you will receive specific supervision from both a direct manager, and a people leader, with the aim of nurturing your technical and soft skills to develop you into a well-rounded finance individual. There will also be the opportunity to, at the end of your internship, apply for a place on the Financial Management Development Program (FMDP), which would start at the end of your studies. By applying for this internship, your application will automatically be considered for other FMDP Internships offered in the same location.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior cashflow analyst and PDx Cash leader. You will partner with the regional finance managers to collect latest forecasts in preparation for submissions to HQ.

  • Prepare accurate weekly reporting of billing, collection & past due actuals.

  • Support the monthly closing process, prepare month end dashboards tying to system cashflows and investigate any variances. Ensure timely and accurate FCF Cash submissions to HQ in PBCS

  • Support additional forecasting processes (Strategic review, budget) by prepare trending analysis to pressure test latest estimates.

  • Support preparation of free cashflow statement, in particular prepare analysis for “All Other” categories, partnering with global controllers to estimate cash flows.

  • Take ownership of month end reporting tasks, preparing analysis for Past Due (DR11), BDR, Past due adjustments, GAP rate changes, FRP cash pages and cash commentary.

  • Monitor past dues for PDx globally. Connect with cash collectors for updates by customer, highlighting any risks where business help is required.

  • Drive automation and implement standard work, proactively strive for process improvements and lead cash initiatives i.e. past due reduction.

Required Qualifications and Desired Characteristics

  • Carries themselves with a positive attitude, a team player and able to deliver expected results on time

  • Confident, self-motivated, able to demonstrate initiative and work with limited supervision when needed

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly numerate with a good attention to detail

  • Confident in both oral and written communication

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and main Microsoft Office applications

  • Fluent in English

  • Taking a placement year as part of a curriculum leading to a bachelors or master's degree from an accredited university, college, or school

  • Must have unlimited authorization to work in hiring country, preferably long term. GE Healthcare does not sponsor visas for internships
