As an Accountant Support Specialist , you will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. You will be responsible for performing a diverse array of tasks to enable the success of the Company. This individual will be a key member of the management team working directly with the General Manager, Corporate Accounting , and Straight Flight Office Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures financial reporting is prepared in accordance with US GAAP

  • Acts as the administrative staff manager and employee benefits liaison

  • Prepare daily accounting and cash control duties for the facility

  • Prepare customer billings for complex aircraft maintenance work orders

  • Generating all A/P entries for biweekly payable runs, and month-end close

  • Reconciles Time Tracking module for payroll processing

  • Coordinates tracking of equipment/service contracts and/or warranties

  • Liaisons with Corporate Accounting to provide timely monthly financial reporting, support for balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and other ad hoc requests

  • Supports the General Manager with forecasting and reporting to Corporate, and job costing

  • Performs complex reconciliations including banking, petty cash, A/R and A/P

  • Provide cross-training and guidance to the Administrative Assistant

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with 5+ years’ experience

  • Experience with US GAAP, including revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and inventory/work-in-progress accounting

  • Experience in running a small office environment

  • Proficiency in MS Office products and automated computerized financial systems (Pentagon 2000, Corridor, Quick Books Pro, a plus)

  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, written, and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet all deadlines

  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff, corporate, customers and vendors

  • Basic understanding of internal control processes and policy and procedure review

  • Base working hours of Monday through Friday 9am to 5:30pm with availability to work overtime as dictated by workload and deadlines

Expanded Experience – Preferred Focus:

  • CPA, MBA, or similar degree

  • Experience with an MRO aircraft organization.

  • Experience with process automation, continuous improvement initiatives, and accounting systems implementation.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Expected annual base compensation range for this position is $75000 to $85000 depending on experience

  • Company sponsored medical benefits eligible on the 1st day of the month from hire date.

  • 401(k) retirement plan available with 150% company match of 6% after required vesting period.

  • Personal Time Off (PTO) accrual after 30 days

  • Salaried position is eligible for Management Annual Bonus Program
