Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining equipment associated with manufacturing and packaging activities. This position involves troubleshooting and maintaining high-speed automated equipment. This role involves a combination of both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and maintain packaging equipment, mixers, and other machines
Repair or replace motors, sensors, drives, relays, etc
Replace or repair, barring, gearboxes, belts, rotors, etc
Perform preventive maintenance and keep equipment in a good state of repair.
Handle breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and implement corrective actions.
Communicate with service vendors and manufacturers for troubleshooting as needed.
Assist with changeovers as required.
Design and aid in the fabrication of machine modifications as per business requirements.
Follow all SOPs, cGMP compliance, and safety guidelines.
Establish and maintain spare parts inventory.
Participate in engineering department meetings and implement the company’s strategic plan.
Support the facility maintenance team as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical School/Industrial Certifications or High School diploma preferred
Solid understanding of cGMP practices and compliance guidelines
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow SOPs written in English
General troubleshooting and mechanical, electro/pneumatic troubleshooting skills necessary to diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
