Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves working on assignments that are moderately complex and require judgment in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. The ideal candidate will have experience in pharmacy operations and a strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of referral information.

Responsibilities

  • Review contents of referral to ensure complete and accurate information has been received.

  • Create a patient profile from a scanned or faxed image by entering correct patient and provider information to ensure all other groups can successfully serve the patient.

  • Conduct initial check of prescription to ensure clinical accuracy for processing.

  • Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns to ensure all information is collected and accurate before it reaches other teams for further processing.

  • Update concise progress notes to ensure other roles within the workflow can quickly assess the status of the referral.

  • Enter new provider information (e.g., National Provider Identifier) accurately into the system so that the Business Intelligence group can complete their reporting.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Current CPhT Certified Pharmacy Technician certification required, must be current without restrictions and in good standing.

  • Current NC Registration (NCBOP) required

  • Experience with data entry required

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Competent in basic computer skills.

  • Multi-task oriented.

  • Ability to effectively work with people.

  • Conscientious and detail-oriented.

Work Environment

The office is open Monday to Friday day shift with no weekend work. The office is closed for major holidays. All patient interactions are conducted over the phone, with no direct patient contact.
