MetLife Cyber Security Analyst in Cary, North Carolina

Role Value Proposition:

MetLife has an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk & security professional to join our Global Security Risk Management team, within the Office of Global Security. This role will be responsible for managing application and IT security service assessments to assess cybersecurity and technology risks against established frameworks, standards, policies, and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cybersecurity assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the organization.

  • Evaluate existing security technology measures and recommend improvements to enhance overall security posture.

  • Maintain program standards, assessment, and documentation to adhere to regulatory compliance.

  • Reporting out to the enterprise key cybersecurity risk metrics.

  • Keep abreast of current security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve security practices.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.

  • Prepare detailed reports outlining assessment findings, recommendations, and action plans for security enhancements.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of common cybersecurity and IT controls, application, and infrastructure security vulnerabilities and mitigations.

  • Ability to effectively communicate business risk as it relates to information security.

  • Experience engaging other security teams, IT, and business units regarding security.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with GRC tools (Archer, OpenPages) and experience with control frameworks (ISO, NIST, COBIT, etc.)

  • Sound knowledge of the industry, particularly within legal, compliance, and other control-focused departments

Preferred:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, computer science, business administration, or a closely related field

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a risk or control function

  • Professional certification: such as CISA or CRISC or other relevant industry certification

  • Have experience with industry frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, PCI, HIPAA)
