Job Summary: A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) provides assistance to individuals who require support with daily living activities due to age, illness, or physical or mental disabilities. The role involves offering both physical and emotional support, enabling clients to live as independently as possible in their own homes or healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Aid with mobility, including transferring clients in and out of bed, wheelchairs, or vehicles.
• Assist with feeding and meal preparation, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Help with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
• Support clients with medication reminders and monitor their daily health status, including recording vital signs (if trained).
• Provide companionship, engage in conversation, and encourage socialization and mental stimulation.
• Assist with exercise routines and mobility practices as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Monitor and report any changes in the client's physical or emotional well-being to family members, healthcare providers, or supervisors.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of care activities, tasks completed, and any incidents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and adhere to care plans.
• Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility, lift, and bend as needed.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
• Reliable transportation (if traveling between client homes).

Work Environment:

• Home setting, healthcare facilities, or client residences.
