Actalent Electrical Test Technician in Carson, California

Electronics Test Technician Job Description:

  • The Electronics Test Technician will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of electronic circuits, and multifunction displays, working on both production units and components to the discrete component level. The Electronics Test Technician must have good prototype assembly and modification skills, as well as being capable of working with minimum supervision in a customer driven small company environment. Must be able to work from established schematics and test procedures as well as customer specifications, preliminary engineering drawings, engineering notes, and hand drawings. Must have good communication skills and be comfortable interfacing directly with the customer and our electrical engineering team.

MUST-HAVE Skills:

  • knowledge of circuit schematics, ability to read and interpret them

  • electrical testing tools: oscilloscopes, multimeters, calipers, volt meters etc.

  • testing down to component level

  • LCD/Displays/Touchscreens/Monitors testing experience

  • PCB rework

  • Soldering experience

Additional Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and blueprints.

  • Ability to use test procedures to diagnose complex circuits.

  • Ability to use AC and DC power supplies, video generators, and Minolta lighting measurements.

  • Hands-on problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in a fast paced and fast to market design to production environment.

  • Minimum of three years of experience.

  • Good soldering skills and knowledge of J-STD-001 and ability to inspect to IPC-A-610.

  • Working knowledge of the following is desired:

  • Analog circuits.

  • Digital circuits.

  • Micro controllers (programming a plus).

  • Data bus communication protocols e.g., USB; RS232 / 422 / 485; ARINC 429.

  • LCD displays.

  • LCD touch screen technologies.

  • LED lighting and control circuits.

  • Electro-mechanical operation.

  • Mechanical switches and switch matrixes troubleshooting
