Woot is the original daily deals site, founded in 2004 and snatched up by Amazon in 2010. Originally, Woot offered just one product per day until we sold out. Today, we offer special daily deals and other limited-time offers across seven categories on the Woot website as well as sell on the Amazon platform.

Woot is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis, as well as accounting. This person will lead the weekly business review of sales and product profit, monthly financial reporting close process, and headcount planning and reporting. Additionally, this person will provide support for the monthly accounting close by completing assigned journal entries and reconciliations.

This role will be part of a Finance team that supports the Woot subsidiary by providing operating planning, weekly and monthly internal reporting, financial analysis, and merchandise profitability analysis. This person will partner with others in the Finance department to provide financial reports and analysis that addresses key risks and opportunities at Woot. They will be required to analyze complex financial results and summarize the findings into concise narratives to be used in business reviews. This person must identify opportunities to simplify and automate workflow and reporting, and work with data teams to build solutions that provide more timely and insightful information.

The Senior Financial Analyst must display a strong sense of ownership of key finance and accounting processes, dive deep to ensure accuracy and understand variances, have the bias for action necessary to prioritize work and push multiple projects forward, and ability to invent and simplify finance and accounting processes, templates, and reports.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive the weekly and monthly internal financial reporting processes for the Woot subsidiary.

• Build reports, derive insights from data, and present analysis and recommendations to subsidiary leadership.

• Partner with Woot management to plan and monitor headcount and related expenses.

• Actively participate in annual and multi-year operating planning.

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and present opportunities to improve efficiency and time savings.

• Identify opportunities to automate reporting and work with business partners to build solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

  • Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • Experience with Microsoft Navision ERP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience with Adaptive Planning software.
