Trane is seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician-Special Projects in the Carrollton, Texas area.

In this exciting role in our Contracting Division, you will be commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects.

What you’ll be doing:

In this position, you will set up the Building Automation Systems on diverse job sites in and around the area. You will commission and start up BAS systems and document point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements.

  • Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.

  • Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.

  • Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience with commercial controls and BAS systems

  • Previous experience with DDC controls system preferred

  • Previous background in programming, commissioning and startup of Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Tridium/Niagara based controls systems is highly desirable

  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)

  • A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations

  • EPA Certification Preferred

  • Ability to work on-call rotation and/or overtime to support the business, including occasional overnight stays
