Integration Technician (Dragon Operations) - Night Shift at SpaceX

INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN (DRAGON OPERATIONS) – NIGHT SHIFT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stage, set up, assemble, test, and install flight hardware

  • Use precision calibrated tools: torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers

  • Hands-on operations with both large as well as small, fragile assemblies

  • Read and interpret blueprints

  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions

  • Use various mechanical tools without instruction

  • Collaborate with Dragon operations engineers to develop and document activities

  • Processes crew immediately prior to spaceflight and upon return to Earth

  • Ensure launch services are performed on time, safely and in a professional manner

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in assembly, test, maintenance, repair and/or installation OR a certificate from an accredited trade skills program

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Airframe & Powerplant license

  • Associate degree in aerospace technology or equivalent area of study

  • AV1200-4 certified for vehicle and electrical ground support equipment terminations

  • Familiarity with data acquisition system architecture and terminations

  • Familiarity with vehicle electrical ground support equipment architecture and hardware

  • Knowledge of pressure, temperature and flow measurement devices; mechanical and electrical systems

  • Prior experience working with launch vehicles, human spaceflight, or supporting hardware ocean recovery

  • Experience with hypergolic or hazardous systems

  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity

  • Marine experience

  • Ability to operate and build a flush cart, proof cart, and leak check cart

  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment

  • Experience of precision cleaning of parts and tubing assemblies

  • A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, manuals and reports

  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

  • Ability to perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass Space Force background check for Cape Canaveral

  • Ability to work the following shift:

  • Wednesday - Saturday: 5:00pm - 5:00am

  • Comfortable being trained to work around hypergolic propellants (MMH and NTO) and willing to work with hazardous materials

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted

  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

  • Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 300 feet), including the use of ladders

  • Willing to operate heavy machinery

  • Ability to work in confined spaces

  • Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain, ice

  • Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Integration Technician/Level 1: $20.00 - $27.00/hour

Integration Technician/Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hour

Integration Technician/Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
