R&D Senior Test Engineer - Surgical Robotics (Cambridge, USA)

Your role:
You’ll join an interdisciplinary, and experienced medical robotics R&D team, tasked with inventing and launching the next generation of medical solutions for Philips’ Image Guided Therapies business.
You will define testing verification strategy, approaches including the execution strategy and high-level concepts for testing the developed system.
Develops, executes and archives objective, reproducible and maintainable test designs and test protocols/procedures (for elements, (sub)system integration, functional and non-functional tests), by using test design methods, techniques and tools.
Creates, reviews and optimizes test designs, reusable test protocols, and test procedures to ensure complete functional and non-functional test coverage for multiple project and/or products concurrently.
Develops and conducts tests to verify functionality (performance, reliability, security, compliance) based on a risk-based strategy, against the design input requirements. Formally reports this.
Collaborate with software, mechatronics, and mechanical teams the development of subsystem level testing verification methods and the harmonization of the overall testing verification strategy.
Define and improve key progress indicators including requirement coverage, test protocol effectiveness, test execution and defect identification and closure.
You have the opportunity to join early a team that is developing a new product in the surgical robotics space in close cooperation with clinical partners. You will be involved in improving our HW/SW test automation framework by identifying opportunities for automation and participating in the development of new protocols and tools. You're the right fit if:
You’ve acquired 5+ years of professional experience in Systems/Product Verification/Validation Engineering, within a regulated systems/product environment preferably for medical robots. (FDA, ISO13485, IEC62304). Experience working in an FDA regulated environment is required.
Your skills include Test Driven Design, Gherkin, Automated Testing, experience with Requirements and Testing Verification management, experience in hands-on design and development and troubleshooting of embedded software; Testing and Validation of Real Time software applications; Testing and Validation of robotic and mechatronics systems.
You have a Bachelor’s degree, MS, or PhD, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

How we work together:
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details:
The pay range for this position in MA is $139,000 to $223,000
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
