As the Associate Project Finance Business Partner, Oncology, within our Finance team you’ll manage the financial aspects of a strategic clinical development project aimed at improving the lives of millions. Overseeing financial operations for multiple clinical trials with a significant budget, you will work closely with the Global Project Team to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and ensure budget adherence throughout the project lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial aspects of a strategic clinical development project, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actuals for multiple indications and clinical trials.

  • Serve as a key member of the Global Project Team, translating project milestones and activities into comprehensive financial metrics and providing decision-making support.

  • Ensure transparency and visibility of project budgets to all relevant stakeholders, identifying and communicating financial risks and opportunities.

  • Analyze financial variances as the project progresses, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement, and assist in identifying potential cost-saving measures.

  • Lead project valuations and establish comprehensive project cost tables, NPV, and other financial metrics, contributing financial insights and recommendations to project strategy discussions.

  • Prepare financial tables for governance meetings, outlining the financial implications of investment decisions, and ensure alignment with company-wide strategic initiatives and business development goals.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Clinical Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) Finance, to integrate all relevant financial components into the global project view and ensure compliance with financial procedures.

  • Provide reporting on externally partnered projects in collaboration with Business Development and Alliance Management teams, ensuring accurate representation of financial data and commitments.

About You:

  • Experience in financial management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Strong understanding of clinical trial design and cost drivers, including FTE costs, external clinical costs, and non-clinical expenses.

  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to provide financial insights to support decision-making at both tactical and strategic levels.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to clinical development and financial reporting.

  • Experience with financial systems and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or Hyperion, is desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Science background is a plus.
