OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:The Security Officer performs security duties under the direction of the Security Supervisor and mentoring and coaching of Security Coordinator. Ensures the protection of property from theft or vandalism, the safeguarding of employees and others on company property and the maintenance of a safe and secure environment for all co-workers. Maintains a safe and secure environment for employees, contractors, visitors and customers by patrolling and guarding facilities and personnel. Complies with DEA security standards for controlled substances and regulatory agency requirements. Projects the image of the company by effectively handling customer calls and professionally greeting all visitors and co-workers. Is part of the rapid response team in the Emergency Management Plan.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points.2.Makes scheduled tours to ensure security, and watches for conditions that could result in injury or loss due to fire, water, leakage, spills, etc. 3.Responsible for the reception area, as designated in his shift, manages the entry controls to the facilities and channels the phone calls received in the company. 4.Participates in the emergency response team in case of alarm without compromising lives or business needs. Verify alarm trigger area to identify source. 5.Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.6.Controls perimeter entrance to assure the security procedure and site security.7.Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.8.Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.9.Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.10.Reports to Supervisor or police authorities any unusual or suspicious condition detected.11.Guards’ employee entrances during arrival and departure of employees at main shift changes.12.Receive, inspect and issue entrance permits to deliveries and contractors. Inspect and verify proper shipping or authorized outgoing documentation. 13.Opens or locks doors, windows, gates at proper times based on plant operating schedule.14.Reports any incidence of visitor, driver or employee actions that could result in injury or loss to company.15.Checks incoming and outgoing packages, handbags, lunch boxes, computers, among others.16.Performs other duties as assigned. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:1.Act as security officer on off shifts, breaks and weekends overseeing site surveillance camera systems, fire alarm system, access control and other related security functions. 2.Conducts troubleshooting in security access control, fire systems, CCTV, roadways/walkways systems and other systems to ensure compliance with systems and security.3.Drive company cars as needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:•High School Diploma •One year experience as Security, police department or customer services, preferred.•Surveillance Skills•Good judgment, and safety oriented•Reporting Skills•Must have effective legible written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish•Being courteous, pleasant and professional with all staff, visitors and contractors is required.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:•Willing to work rotating shifts, seven days.Neolpharma Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity /Affirmative Action Employer committed to hiring a diverse and inclusive workforce.
