Job Overview

As a QMS Engineer at TE Connectivity's Industrial BU, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and regulatory compliance of our business system, within the industrial sector, while working as part of a remote team. In addition to QMS responsibilities, you will also manage Internal Audits, Control of Documents, and Reporting processes.TE Connectivity's Quality Assurance Teams are responsible for all or part of an organization's Quality Management System, including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives. They work on systemic evaluation of products, services, facilities, manufacturing or business processes, to ensure that standards of quality are being met. Develop and implement quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. They reviews, analyze and report on quality discrepancies, investigate problems and executes quality audits, and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. The team works closely with manufacturing, engineering, customers, or suppliers and subcontractors to ensure requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

• QMS Development and Maintenance:

o Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) specific to the Industrial Business Unit, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (as ISO 9001) and regulations, industry-specific standards, and cross sub verticals specifics.

o Ensure a user-friendly QMS, tailored to Industrial BU and its user’s needs.

• Document Management and Communication

o Manage the creation, review, and approval of quality-related documents, including quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and records tailored to the Industrial BU's needs.

o Ensure proper communication to the community whenever an Industrial BU quality related-document is created or updated, and promote the necessary training.

• Internal Audits Management:

o Plan, conduct, and oversee internal system audits according to ISO 9001 to assess the effectiveness of the QMS and identify areas for improvement.

o Develop program for self-assessment by the manufacturing locations of their manufacturing processes.

o Maintain audit records, findings, and corrective actions.

o Follow-up deadlines of planned corrective and preventive actions plans, and initiate escalation when necessary.

• Reporting and Analysis:

o Generate reports on quality performance and trends specific to the Industrial BU, providing insights to management for decision-making.

• Process Improvement:

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Industrial BU to identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

o Work closely with the business system process owners to drive continuous improvement.

o Use data analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the industrial sector.

• Training and Education:

o Develop and deliver training programs related to the QMS specific to the Industrial BU, ensuring that employees understand and adhere to quality standards and procedures.

o Develop skill matrixes and development journeys for the quality roles in Industrial BU.

o Provide Training on ISO9001, Control of Documents, Internal Audits, Management of Non-Conformities, Problem Solving, Management Review, etc.

• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's quality systems are up to date.

• Give input for IND continuous improvement strategies to support the organization’s manufacturing quality, cost reduction goals and standardization of processes.

What your background should look like:

  • Engineer with university degree or equivalent with subject area: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or degree in physics

  • 5+ years experience in Engineering and Project assignments

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Specialized and profound knowledge in electronics, physics, mechanics, metal and plastics

  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Automotive Core Tools APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP and other risk analysis standards)

  • Strong knowledge of quality management standards as VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, ISO 9001

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers

  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and continues improvement attitude

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multi-cultural teams

  • Strong ability to take decisions

  • Good English knowledge, verbal and in writing (also for presenting)

  • Green Belt / Black Belt (good to have)
