Butte School District #1 RN- SCHOOL NURSE in Butte, Montana
- Participate with school staff in developing and implementing a comprehensive school healthprogram.2. Assume responsibility for referral and follow-up of students in need of further medical care throughindividual student health assessments and routing screening procedures of vision, blood pressure,scoliosis, hearing, and dental.3. Maintain up-to-date immunization and cumulative health records on all students.4. Submit reports required by the State Department of Health and Environmental Sciences regardingimmunizations and activity accountability.5. Recommend exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagiousdiseases and immunization compliance as set by Montana Department of Health and HumanServices.6. Act as a liaison between parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agenciesregarding student medical matters.7. Make home visits when indicated for effective management of health problems.8. Advise individual teachers of any students with health problems that may interfere with their abilityto learn and help modify the educational program to meet the health needs of the individualstudent.9. Is an active member of the 504 Team and Safety Team. Coordinates the student health care plans.10. Assist in the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness duringthe school day.11. Provide individual health counseling to both students and faculty.12. Act as a resource person in developing the curriculum for and teaching in health education courses.13. Assist school personnel in establishing safety and sanitary conditions in schools.14. Participates in in-service training programs.15. Works with parents, students and staff members to coordinate medication administration forstudents.16. Provides education to co-workers in administering epi pens to students and adults according toDistrict Policy.17. Active team member working with Building Administrator(s) to maintain and provide educationfor properly working AEDs in student occupied school district buildings.
