Job Title: Conveyor Mechanic

Job Description

This is a senior-level position for a Conveyor Mechanic working on a 1st shift on weekends, from Friday to Monday, 7 am to 5:30 pm. The role requires strong experience with conveyors and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for ensuring repair calls are handled efficiently and that operations continue smoothly. Training will take place during the week on the first shift.

Responsibilities

  • Respond and resolve service calls, providing mechanical and technical support.

  • Troubleshoot automated material handling system components in a 700,000 sq. ft. distribution center.

  • Perform on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex equipment and systems without direct supervision.

  • Conduct mechanical and lubrication tasks on automated material handling equipment, including belt installation, bolt and tension roll adjustment, and replacing defective parts.

  • Perform preventive/predictive maintenance and repairs on various equipment such as pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, and electronic equipment.

  • Assist in formulating preventative maintenance standards and work procedures.

  • Provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.

  • Utilize working knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, automated conveyor systems, and key components of the distribution center.

  • Follow up by providing feedback and timely documentation to ensure resolution.

  • Provide daily support to the operations by performing daily inspections as required by site guidelines.

  • Perform general facility maintenance tasks such as light bulb replacement, office furniture relocation, light plumbing, and light electrical repairs.

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, boom and scissor lifts, and other powered equipment.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience performing maintenance on industrial manufacturing process/production equipment.

  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot issues hands-on.

  • Good working knowledge of hand/power tools, precision alignment, rigging, welding, blueprints, and preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance.

  • Ability to read, write, and follow numbers and directives in English.

  • Command of basic math skills for inventory and measurement conversion accuracy.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Command of safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified 5S experience (preferred).

  • Sortation experience (preferred).

  • Knowledge of shrink tunnel repair and troubleshooting (preferred).

  • PLC knowledge is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 1st shift during weekends, with initial training on 1st shift during the week. The role involves frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing/pulling, crawling, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and standing for long periods. You may sometimes work in extreme temperatures. You will report to the Lead Maintenance Technician and Facilities Manager.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
