Job Description:

The Area Leader is a leadership role focused on building fully engaged and competent teams that deliver results in line with the area performance goals in a safe and efficient way.

The successful candidate will have overall accountability for their assigned area(s) in the Corian® Business Unit; including Safety, Environmental Stewardship, Staffing, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Labor Relations. They will set expectations and are accountable for adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards. This role will manage up to 8 direct reports, including 3 Supervisors, and approximately 50 indirect reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates production performance goals, metrics and outcomes within area to meet production goals and the customers’ needs safely and efficiently.

  • Promotes commitment and ownership of DuPont® Operational Excellence by engaging team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, eliminate waste and remove barriers; uses lean and digital tools effectively

  • Hires, retains and develops talent to meet current and future capabilities; promotes a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment

  • Coaches, develops, and provides performance feedback to team members to build capabilities, align on expectations and overall team effectiveness; uses reward and recognition to drive the DuPont® Core Values, behaviors and operational results

  • Partners with senior leaders to stay informed of the business strategy and needs; pivots as needed to deliver business value

  • Organizes area resources to drive performance; completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently

  • Acts as a subject matter expert on Corian® products, its customers and their requirements

  • Uses business knowledge and cost modeling tools to build business cases and evaluate operational needs/opportunities

  • Owns Corian® area Operational Discipline and understands importance of best in class execution

  • Ensures safety policies and procedures are modeled and followed in Corian® area

  • Interprets and applies basic engineering principles to troubleshoot production issues and identify operational continuous improvements.

  • Utilizes real-time data to make production, staffing and technical decisions

  • Execution of root cause incidents and investigations to identify and mitigate production failures or gaps, and implement corrective actions

  • Solves simple and complex technical and operational problems while balancing speed/risk/reward

  • Creates an environment of accountability for employees to meet agreed upon expectations

  • Uses management systems to monitor Corian® area performance against goals and shift priorities when necessary

  • Energizes and motivates the workforce by developing Union and Non-Union relationships and cultivating an environment of mutual respect ​

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or related experience (post any intern or co-op experience)

  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing leadership roles

  • Demonstrated track record of driving change, elevating performance, and consistently delivering results

  • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process) experience

  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and communication skills

  • Experience driving key production metrics (Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Yield, Quality, etc.)

  • Must be able to manage a diverse workload

  • Six Sigma/Lean Practitioner, preferred

The Pay range for this role is $102,900.00 - $161,700.00 Annual

How Base Pay is Determined: DuPont has job leveling frameworks that help organize roles based on progressive levels of responsibility, proficiency and qualifications. Each role has an associated pay range (or an established pay rate for some roles) based on the competitive market in each country where we operate. Each individual’s pay is based on a variety of factors, including their role and the associated pay range for that role, their geographic location (i.e., country, state, metropolitan area), as well as their skills, experience, education and certifications, and performance.
