Material Handling Specialist / Forklift Operator

Our client, a leading North American building product brand, seeks a Material Handling Specialist to join their growing team!

In this role, you'll be a vital part of the Operations Department, ensuring a smooth flow of materials throughout the warehouse. You'll leverage your skills in operating a forklift to keep production lines running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials, including raw materials for production and finished goods for shipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to ensure efficient operations.

  • Locate and move stock of building products to designated areas for storage and shipment using a forklift.

  • Identify damaged goods and report shortages or quality issues.

  • Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and activity logs using a warehouse management system (WMS).

  • Adhere to company policies and legal guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience operating a forklift is a must.

  • Strong work ethic and a desire to contribute to a growing company.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to safely maneuver a forklift in a fast-paced environment.

  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality control.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
