Type: 9 Months Fixed Term Contract

Our Corporate Relations (CR) team purpose is to protect and promote Diageo’s reputation and licence to operate, and to support our ambition to become the most trusted and respected consumer goods company. We have a fantastic opportunity for an EU Affairs Manager to join our team based in Brussels. In this role you’ll work closely with our Head of EU Affairs in delivering our ambitious plans in Brussels and manage public policy issues and, in particular, drive our Health and Regulatory agenda.

What could you expect from this role?

  • You’ll support and manage relevant EU policy issues and related legislative files, working with our trade associations as well as Europe market colleagues and the global public policy/sustainability/comms teams.

  • Liaise with Supply team on ongoing regulatory issues.

  • Organize internal/external events.

  • Ongoing work on EU internal market related legislative dossiers as required.

  • Lead on our EU commitments on advertising, marketing etc.

  • Manage policy campaigns.

  • Help manage the EU office budget.

What are we looking for?

  • Internal And External Public Affairs Experience, as well as Commercial Awareness would be advantageous. Communications experience is also desirable, with an emphasis on policy.

  • Demonstrable experience with a blend of communication, and programme/project management – this should include delivering effective communication strategies/campaigns, both internally and externally.

  • Leadership skills, to support collaborative working with senior leaders and external partners with the capability and confidence to provide direction, coaching and support.

  • Strong relationship building and alignment skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross functional matrix teams across our organisation. Able to build strong relationships with broad spectrum of people.

  • Managing complexity and ambiguity. Managing an agenda of multiple priorities, multiple stakeholders and juggling multiple projects in a fluid environment.

  • Strong drive, delivery and determination to succeed and be recognised internally and externally.

  • Team player who flexes to the needs of small and important satellite office for the business.
