The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Speech Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist

We are currently seeking an ambitious Speech Therapist to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Speech Language Pathologist on our team, you will plan and administer medically prescribed treatment programs for the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive, and oral motor disorders. If you are dedicated to caring for the well-being of others, this could be your next opportunity.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Evaluate the patient’s condition, obtain case history, and administer diagnostic tests to determine nature and degree of speech and language problem

  • Establish, implement, and modify treatment plans, in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures

  • Determine when patient progress and goals have been met or medical necessity no longer warrants intervention

  • Establish provisions for continuing services and make referrals to other professionals regarding patient care as necessary

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology required

  • State of Florida Speech-Language Pathologist licensure required

  • Experience in appropriate healthcare setting preferred

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC*) awarded by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (https://www.asha.org/certification/)

  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills
