Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, Part-Time (71116)Location: Brooklyn, NYDescription:Reporting to the Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach, will assist in developing, organizing and administering all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Men's Basketball program. This is a part-time stipend position, paid bi-weekly.The Assistant Coach must be able to build positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, staff and campus partners. They will help support the athletic, academic and personal development of the Men's Basketball team with a commitment to sportsmanship, respect, diversity, equity and inclusion. The Department of Athletics and Recreation is committed to providing a wide range of activities and services that assist Pratt students of various backgrounds and abilities in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Pratt has an athletics history dating back to the founding of the institution in 1887. Pratt is an NCAA Division III institution and will join the Atlantic East Conference as full members in the 2024-25 academic year. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist the Head Coach with various aspects of coaching, such as planning and executing practices, video review, opponent scouting, and game planning.Recruit prospective student-athletes.Manage road game travel, including driving the team to road games in Pratt Institute vans, when needed.Follow NCAA Division III rules and regulations and pass annual Coaches Exam.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.Basketball coaching and/or playing experience.Availability to work nights and weekends for games and practices is crucial.Valid drivers license with the ability to drive a 12-passenger van.Ability to thrive in a diverse and fast-paced environment.AED/CPR/First Aid Certification.Outstanding written and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications: Basketball coaching experience at the collegiate levelFamiliarity with NCAA Division III rulesFamiliarity with Synergy and HudlCollegiate recruiting experienceSalary Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.$7000, part-time.
