Engineering Services is at the heart of BT's service delivery - we plan, build and maintain BT’s 5'700 exchanges and 289 radio sites across the UK and we maintain 10 data centres and 25 EE sites.

In a nutshell, we use our engineering expertise to protect and build the services of today and tomorrow, for our customers - around the clock and wherever they are – and we need you to help us do this.

What you’ll be doing

  • Onboarding of new work to contractor

  • Provides information to help procurement in putting together bids for new work and negotiating and agreeing supplier contracts.

  • Management of third-party vendors including EIN and Basol security processes.

  • Updating suppliers to reflect process or policy changes

  • Work with suppliers to assure correct management of stores to cost agreements

  • Hold regular commercial review meetings with the suppliers and internal BT stakeholders to facilitate progress, supplier performance and improvement opportunities.

  • Work closely across internal teams to make sure internal delivery align with external delivery and work targets are delivered on time and to cost.

  • Review Forecast numbers for inflight programmes with contractors

  • Raising Pos / validate Pos against charged amount

  • Reporting

  • Contractor SLA Performance

  • Health and Safety

Skills required

  • Experience in finance system & Reporting such as Ariba / Ibuy

  • Working with internal and external partners to deliver quality, safety and on time expectations.

  • Programme or delivery experience

  • Commercial Awareness: requirements and impact. Ability to deal with multiple competing suppliers

  • Stakeholder Management: Able to establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitates mutually beneficial negotiations to develop solutions

  • Risk Management: The ability to identify risks, balance the threats and opportunities associated with the risks, take appropriate mitigating action against the risks and track and manage risk over their lifetime. Strong knowledge or understanding of business health and safety rules and guidance.

  • Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively solve business problems that deal with uncertainty e.g. demand profile planning including location, skill and resource.

  • Business/ Financial acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases Innovation, complexity of problem solving and independence of thinking
