Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the management and continuous improvement of our agile software development practice.

  • Design software solutions to support automation within inspection, repair and manufacturing contexts.

  • Contribute to the development of software architecture.

  • Contribute to the day-to-day implementation of our software.

  • Coach team members and encourage a culture of continuous improvement and development.

  • Assist in the specification, support and maintenance of the computer tools.

Core Skills

  • Track record of technical leadership within a team (e.g. taking the lead in design and supporting junior team members towards delivery of solutions).

  • Experience developing and communication software system architectures.

  • Significant experience working in an agile software development team.

  • Solid understanding of modern software technologies and approaches.

  • Hands-on development experience using modern languages and frameworks (e.g. C++, VueJS, C#, Python etc.)

  • Exposure Continuous Integration/Testing frameworks (e.g. Git/Github, Actions, Jenkins, Codebuild/CodePipeline etc.).

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Good presentation skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience leading an agile software development process.

  • Previous experience of Robotics and Automation.

  • Exposure to robotics communications frameworks (e.g. Robot Operating System – ROS)

  • Expert knowledge of one (or more) of the following:

  • C/C++ Python

  • VueJS

  • AWS

  • Significant experience using TDD as an approach to software implementation.

  • Exposure to containerization as an approach to software deployment. (e.g. Docker, Singularity)
