Job Overview
As a DSP Systems, Senior Engineer at Qualcomm, you will focus on the design, development, and testing of either physical layer of wireless communication systems such as Bluetooth, 15.4, WLAN, UWB or audio DSP systems. This role involves working on advanced systems, ensuring their seamless integration and performance. The main application is embodying these systems into custom chips (ASICs), which are by application battery operated. The designs are hence highly constrained by power and solution size. Key Responsibilities
Design and develop modem systems for wireless communications or audio end-to-end HW/SW DSP systems.
Lead system design, contributing to both reference design and intellectual property (IP).
Develop and verify hardware models of core IP using C++/SystemC.
Conduct performance analysis and optimization.
Develop signal processing and machine learning features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless communication or audio solutions into various products.
Develop and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and performance of these systems.
Support validation teams to conduct performance tests and measurements.
Contribute to definition of public or proprietary standards.
Ownership of the design via the whole lifecycle from feasibility to customer issue resolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
1-4 years of experience in modem or audio systems development, with a focus on DSP and systems.
Strong understanding of wireless communication or audio systems.
Experience with embedded systems and wireless communication or audio technologies.
Solid background in signal processing fundamentals.
Strong programming skills in C/C++, Matlab, and Python.
Expertise in fixed-point and floating-point implementation.
Understanding of key aspects of analogue or mixed-signal designs impacting system performance.
Understanding of key HW/SW design implications on solution size and power.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
Knowledge of RF design and testing.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Expertise in developing and debugging software on embedded platforms.
Knowledge of Bluetooth, 15.4, WLAN, UWB, and audio technologies.
Experience with high-level synthesis and SystemC.
Experience with DSP intrinsic and assembly programming.
Knowledge of digital design, RTL, System Verilog and methodology of verifying digital design
Knowledge of DSP architecture, real-time operating system concepts, software design patterns, multi-threaded programming, data structures, and basic algorithms.
PhD in a related field is a plus.
