Title: Vice President, Information Technology Location: Brisbane, California About Us: Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Vera is also considering evaluating the role of atacicept in other immunologic disorders. Additionally, Vera is developing MAU868, a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize infection with BK Virus, a polyomavirus that can have devastating consequences in certain settings such as kidney transplant. Position Summary: We are looking for a Vice President, Information Technology to lead and build to our IT team and infrastructure through a critical growth stage. This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for IT services, infrastructure, projects, security and partner relationships. As the Vice President, Information Technology, you will develop and implement IT strategies for the secure and efficient operation of our enterprise applications, infrastructures, operational technology, and communication systems to meet the strategic and operational needs of the company. This role will operate as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to all functions at Vera. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement IT strategy directly linked to Vera objectives and business initiatives with the ability to articulate the technical roadmap across the business. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement innovative technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business objectives. • Manage relationships with various technology, vendor, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives across the project portfolio. • Develop and oversee a dashboard providing comprehensive IT reports, including KPIs, SLAs, financials, and other project portfolio metrics. • Directing execution of a broad range of technical projects –balancing competing demands of scope, time, cost, quality, resources, and risks. • Create, implement and maintain policies, standards, practices and procedures to ensure system security and compliance with existing policies and procedures, industry standards and regulations. • Create and manage annual operating budget and forecasting for IT. • Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, and monitoring on projects. • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's digital assets, systems, and data. • Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery plan to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity in the event of disruptions or disasters. • Provide leadership and direction to the helpdesk team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues and excellent customer support. • Coordinates the development and implementation of programs, special projects, research studies and other initiatives to identify best practices and process improvements to promote functional efficiency and productivity. • Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and automation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI and Machine Learning. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success. • Oversee the maintenance of helpdesk processes, ticketing systems, and service-level agreements. • Continuously improve helpdesk operations by implementing best practices, evaluating performance metrics, and enhancing customer satisfaction. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training needs, develop user support documentation, and deliver training programs to promote user self-service and technical proficiency. Qualifications: • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or another related field. MBA\MS a plus. • 15+ years of hands-on IT management experience, preferably in the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry. • Strong technical knowledge and extensive application support experience of systems and applications within the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industries. • Proven track record in project and program management, expertise in financial management, resource management, and organizational change management methodologies and tools. • In-depth knowledge of IT systems architecture, governance frameworks, and industry best practices. • Understanding of purchasing, budgeting, and planning processes, experience with IT contracts management. • Strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, especially in managing IT systems. • Extensive vendor management experience. • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with friendly, communicative, collaborative approach and style. • Experience with fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture, promoting professional growth and development within the teams. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $289,000 - $347,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
