We are seeking a Shipping/Receiving Coordinator for our Brierfield, AL Operations. This role is responsible for performing the daily processing of inbound/outbound shipments and keeping records of all products shipped and received. Develop shipping documents and ensure all orders have been filled correctly.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure inbound trucks have proper documentation and verify incoming shipments through physical counts
  • Order truck and rail cars for shipment
  • Track demurrage reasons related to rail cars
  • Process outbound shipments in a timely manner and assure proper documentation and correctness of material involved including a photo log
  • Consolidate paper flow from yard and post correct information to proper location or person
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that customer specific requirements are met
  • Participate and contribute to company safety program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • Experience: One year of shipping and transportation experience required; Two years of data entry experience in an administrative role. Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Computer skills with Excel, Word and Outlook mandatory
  • Demonstrated communications skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to handle multiple requests and assignments
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have proven ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, database software, word processing software, and presentation software.
