Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. Geotechnical Laboratory Technician in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania
Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician for our Construction Observation & Testing Group in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania. Laboratory Technicians are responsible for performing asphalt, concrete, and aggregate testing in accordance with published standards and laboratory policies and procedures. Laboratory technicians are also responsible for record keeping, test reporting, performing calibrations, and maintenance of field and lab equipment.
Responsibilities Include
• Perform data entry, record keeping, test reporting, and other duties.
• Ability to learn and apply ASTM, AASHTO, and other laboratory test procedures.
• Perform testing in the laboratory on construction materials to include Modified Proctors, sieve analyses, plasticity index tests, soil classification, and other soil, asphalt, and concrete test processing.
• Work in the concrete room prepping and performing tests on concrete cylinders, cores, masonry block, and prisms for compressive strength testing.
• Break cylinders, prisms, and cubes of concrete and masonry.
• Perform maintenance and calibrations on laboratory and field equipment.
• Perform some calculations of test data under supervision of Laboratory Supervisor.
• Assist with data back-checking and corrections.
