Robert Half Staff Accountant in Brentwood, Tennessee

Description We are on the lookout for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Brentwood, Tennessee. This role revolves around participating in month-end close activities, supporting financial statement close package, and year-end close. You will also be responsible for reporting monthly financial submissions, assisting with quarterly reports, and working with other departments on strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in month-end close activities and ensure timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, inter-company elimination process, and accruals

• Support the timely reporting of monthly financial submissions from accounting teams, including preparation, review, reconciliation, and journal entries relating to submission of local trial balances

• Assist with quarterly 10Q/10K reporting deliverables and other management reporting as needed

• Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy

• Develop, enhance, implement, and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business

• Work with internal and external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit

• Partner with other departments on resolving month-end close questions and while working on strategic initiatives

• Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned

• Utilize advanced computer skills for Excel to maintain and analyze financial data

• Perform Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger work, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and Financial Reporting. Requirements • Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare accurate Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close processes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Financial Reporting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving issues.
