Responsibilities

Leads the division’s finance function in all aspects of operations finance and acts as a continual source of actionable intelligence for all disciplines including Operations, Sales, Clinical, and Asset Management. Act as a source of financial accountability for division, region and agency teams. Establishes and nurtures trust with division, region and agency teams as a source for reliable help and timely insight. Challenge and improve upon best practices with regard to analytical approach, reporting techniques, and complexity of systems and models. Leads and challenges the analytical team to grow in their development. Strategically prioritize limited analytical resources to achieve highest and best use.

  • Engages as an active member of the Division Operating Committee and takes part in strategic decision making with regard to operations, rates, and labor and expense control strategies.

  • Drives analysis of revenue mix and impact on profitability. Identifies and implements opportunities to strategically negotiate rates up or down based on changes in market conditions, new competition, quality of referral sources and other competitive factors.

  • Identifies and leads the development of high impact value-adds analysis on business drivers, trends, and risk/opportunities by utilizing both internal and external data and provide actionable intelligence and areas for improvement to division leadership team.

  • Leads the annual budget and project cycles including setting the calendar and milestones, tracking progress and holding budget contributors accountable to deadlines, preloading budget data, and ensuring the division/region/community budgets meet pre-determined budget objectives.

  • Develops and maintains forecasting methodologies that provide division leadership with insight into areas of financial risk prior to crisis status.

  • Suggests and implements cost reduction targets and track progress towards achieving goals.

  • Drives ROI analysis to ensure that resources are being deployed in the most strategic way and with the highest returns.

  • Assists in the preparation of monthly and quarterly division and region updates, including presentation materials for the executive committee and external stakeholders.

  • Presents complicated financial matters in a compelling way to both the executive level as well as individuals less versed in financial topics.

  • Consults and intervenes at the region and district level to drive improved efficiency and adherence to best practices.

  • Coordinates with the analytical team with regard to prioritizing best use of limited analytical resources, best practices on analytical approach, and best use of finance related technology.

Qualifications

Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience. Minimum seven years of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting related experience with a large multi-location company required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Clarity, Essbase or PeopleSoft is desired.

Certifications, Licenses, and other Special RequirementsCPA and/or MBA preferred

Uses a high degree of analytical ability using sound judgment acquired through significant experience to solve complex and varied problems that could result in substantial loss of reputation. Provides overall leadership and direction to the business at the regional or divisional level.

Knowledge and SkillsHas significant knowledge of an advanced discipline with a working knowledge of the organization, work environment and process. Has knowledge to direct multiple functions and/or departments with full responsibility for operational results. Expert level knowledge in Excel ability, mastery of mass data manipulation and proficiency in database development.
