Silgan Closures Quality Manager in Breinigsville, Pennsylvania

Essential Job Functions: • Direct plant activities to assure Administrative quality procedures. • Quality Control Software (Gainseeker) training, maintenance and record control. • Process claims against vendors (steel mill). • Maintenance of quality records and control of quality forms. • Responsible for maintenance of quality equipment. • Position plant for audits (Silgan Containers Quality Systems Audit, NFPA, ASI Food Safety Audit, etc). • Interact with customers on quality issues. Build and maintain customer relationship. • Process customer complaints and reports. • Lead the plant continuous improvement program (SPC). This will include directing both hourly and salaried employees in regards to quality control procedures. • Ensure proper recording of redline changes and monitor for expiration. • Maintain chemical log. • Monitor and promote sanitation regulations. • Execute decisions on quality issues and risk management • Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Education, Skills, and Experience: • Strong working knowledge and understanding of SPC. • Basic knowledge of the operation of the equipment and the flow of material throughout the plant. • Detail-oriented. • Understanding of the different identification of raw material, finished product, and customer products. • Excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. • Proven leadership abilities. • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. • Must have excellent time-management skills. • Knowledge of measuring instruments. • Required to spend approximately 80% of time on production floor and 20% in office. • 5 years experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment. • Bachelor of Science in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
