Robert Half Staff Accountant in Brattleboro, Vermont

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant based in Brattleboro, Vermont. This role encompasses a wide range of financial duties, including processing payroll, maintaining financial reports and managing daily cash operations. The successful candidate will also be expected to possess a strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, journal entries, month-end close, and QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the accounting department by maintaining financial reports and daily cash management

• Processes weekly payroll accurately and efficiently

• Handles accounts payable and receivable duties to ensure smooth financial operations

• Performs bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data

• Manages the general ledger and journal entries

• Conducts month-end close procedures in a timely and accurate manner

• Utilizes QuickBooks for various accounting tasks

• Maintains accurate financial records and prepares clear and accurate reports for financial tracking

• Resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities

• Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Familiar with maintaining General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries

• Experience in executing Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and other relevant accounting software

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
