Universal Health Services SCHOOL BASED MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST in BRADENTON, Florida

SCHOOL BASED MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST

The Therapist School Based position will be working onsite at local Manatee County Schools. The Therapist will provide mental health therapy to students and families within a school setting; specifically at the elementary, middle, and high school levels at Manatee County Schools. The Therapist will work collaboratively with school staff, family/guardians, and other professionals in meeting the needs of the youth and their family/home. This position will work cooperatively with community agencies to implement services and link clients to available programs and community services. Collaborate with CPS and child welfare programs. The position includes maintaining weekly contact with clients, completing appropriate clinical assessments, and documentation.

This assignment would be school(s) in Manatee County.

Work Location and Hours:

Days and hours of work follow the Manatee County School District school schedule.

Travel is required. Therapist will be assigned to schools.

START DATE: This position would start in August with the new 2024-2025 school year.

SKILLS:

Ability to implement evidence-based practices and possesses strong clinical skillsExcellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills are necessaryKnowledge of Play Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior TherapyThe ability to work with persons from diverse cultures and backgroundsKnows, understands and adheres to the organizational policy related to the patient’s rights for confidential care.

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Psychology, or related counseling field. Competent clinical skills, clear communication skills and knowledge of community resources. Must have at least one year of experience working with children and adolescents.

Preferred Qualification:

LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or Registered Intern eligible in aforementioned field

Bilingual English/Spanish (helpful)
