Job Summary:

A Plant Systems Specialist is responsible for handling, maintaining and acting as overall administrator for plants systems database, servers, software, automation hardware, networks, reports and associated manufacturing applications. This involves working with controls, operations and information technology teams to plan strategies of execution without impacting the organization's day-to-day production activities. They develop plans and provide technical expertise to ensure the technical architecture is operational and secure throughout the integration process.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Run the SQL Server database, other data servers and user security as an administrator.

  • Build new insightful reports/dashboards using SQL, Google data studio, Tableau, DOMO and maintain existing reports and dashboards.

  • Responsible for configuration, programming, maintenance and upgrade of plant automation hardware and equipment like industrial thin clients, label applicators, date coders, dashboard screens, controllers and other general manufacturing instruments / devices.

  • Responsible for Manufacturing Server management, upgrade and updates in alignment with Colgate/Hill’s IT protocols.

  • Backup Plant IT administrator in LAN administration task and on-call coverage.

  • Develop and Maintain plant metrics screens/dashboards, HMI / SCADA Screens and various manufacturing application user interface (UI).

  • Ability to answer off-shift calls from operations, fix and give resolutions in timely manner.

  • Meet yearly plant and departmental objectives.

  • Coordinate SAP MII transaction monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining reports integrity.

  • Assist in driving plant system integration projects.

Basic qualifications:

  • Associate degree / diploma or equivalent in engineering, data science, supply chain operations and/or IT or a related technical field.

  • 2 - 6 of proven ability in systems engineering, technology management and database administration in the manufacturing industry.

  • SQL Database management, integration, reporting services, maintenance and security.

  • Stakeholder management (customer centric).

  • Minimum of two years hands on experience working with database administration, reporting services and software management in a manufacturing environment.

  • Microsoft Computer Systems & Google Tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, IT or related field preferred.

  • Hands on Computer hardware and software programming techniques

  • LAN, WAN, Networks / Networking

  • Data Integration tools and protocols.

  • Wonderware InTouch SCADA, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Rockwell Automation software Suites.

  • SAP Business System interactions with databases and applications.

  • General Manufacturing System Application programming and coding.

  • Managed Switched Ethernet, Multi mode fiber, CAT5/CAT6, Cisco Switches, LAN, WAN

  • Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ELAU & PLC Networks (Ethernet/Control net) hardware.

  • Front end tool development (Wonderware, VB, Java, HTML, SQL Reports and other Reporting Services).

  • Microsoft Active Directory, Business File Server, Google Tools /DataStudio / Reports.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $65 600,00 - $94 500,00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
