The AWS Enterprise Security Services team is looking for Software Development Engineers to design, build, and deploy innovative security services. You will contribute to services including Inspector, Guardduty, Security Hub, Detective and Security Lake to help protect our customers around the world. Key job responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.

• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.

• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.

• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.

• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or completed within the last 12 months a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields

• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis

• Knowledge of, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl

• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $88,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $200,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
