Core Responsibilities

Retail Program Development (30%)

  • Creates integrated marketing strategies that deliver successful account specific retail shopping experiences, driving achievement of retailer and LEGO Group objectives

  • Seeks out, digests, and translates insights into omnichannel marketing program ideas that drive incremental value to shoppers, including families and kids

  • Responsible for retail marketing plan development, including collaboration across agencies to move to execution for the Target business

  • Presents and sells in plans to our retailer in partnership with our key account teams to secure alignment for LEGO® branded programs, including influence on in-store and digital features

Retail Marketing Leadership (35%)

  • Works directly with Target Key Account Director counterpart to set account-level marketing priorities across full team

  • Sets direction for cross-functional marketing partners on priorities, investments and collaboration approach

  • Accountable for marketing execution delivery across all retailer-specific channels

  • Leads marketing and sales integration day to day, including selling-in process leadership

  • Represents US market needs to global marketing teams, and influences upstream strategic go to market alignment

  • Accountable for allocation decisions of retailer specific trade marketing budgets

Retail Marketing Execution (15%)

  • Maintains strong working relationships with retailer, sales colleagues, agencies, merchandisers, and brand management, enabling effective program execution

  • Constructs vision for next-level execution standards across brand and marketing, including in-store innovation

Account Management (20%)

  • Develops and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with external retailer marketing organization, stewarding the LEGO brand to ensure alignment, development, and execution of shopper and consumer programs against retailer expectations

  • Influence strategic direction with impactful marketing priorities

  • Responsible for measuring of program effectiveness, sharing and actioning insights to further drive business result

The Senior Trade Marketing Manager role within US Marketing is responsible for driving the success of retail marketing activation with the Target business, effectively reaching and communicating to shoppers.

The role will be responsible for ensuring a strong process from retailer and LEGO® brand insights, to ideation, and then creation, development and execution of marketing activations and materials against LEGO Group and retailer priorities. The role will be accountable for driving best in class retail experiences for the LEGO® brand with our customers, achieving retailer and brand objectives.

The Senior Trade Marketing Manager also plays an overall role in retail relationship leadership, integrating with the broader key account management team to drive integrated programs and activations across sales and marketing.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Preferred minimum 7 years of experience in consumer products marketing in a retail context; experience with kids and family brands preferred

  • 5+ years experience in developing and leading omnichannel shopper marketing campaigns, including retail media landscape expertise

  • Experience working with large US retailers, particularly Target, and their marketing/media (Roundel) organizations preferred

  • Demonstrated results orientation with successful experience in decision making, analytics, and market innovation skills delivering real impact to business results

  • Effective relationship builder and negotiator who can collaborate across functions and business units, managing a complex set of partners

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills, thriving in a team setting

  • Bachelor’s degree and / or MBA or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Effective presentation and writing skills with the ability to convey a compelling and concise message, and to engage and inspire colleagues

  • Takes initiative, recognizes and acts on opportunities

  • Determined and able to navigate ambiguity with a solution orientated approach

Additional details on this position

  • The salary for this position has a range of $120,400 - $180,700 USD based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.

  • The current work location for this role is 501 Boylston Street, Boston, MA. In 2025, we will transition to our new permanent office location at 1001 Boylston Street, Boston, MA. Specific move dates for roles are to be determined and communicated in 2024.
