Boston University Part-Time Lecturer, School of Law, Client Counseling Simulation Seminar in BOSTON, Massachusetts

Boston University School of Law is hiring a part-time lecturer to teach the Law School’s Client Counseling Simulation Seminar. Teaching the course will begin in Spring 2025. The instructor will have the freedom to further develop and teach the existing one semester seminar. The goal of this simulation course is to provide students the opportunity to learn and practice foundational skills necessary to work with clients in the context of legal representation. These skills include: (1) identifying client interests and goals at the outset of a matter; (2) discussing and analyzing legal options; (3) cross-cultural competency, bias, and racism; and (4) communicating and advising the client about new developments as matters progress. Students are expected to learn through mock counseling interviews and other in-class exercises.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will have prior teaching experience and be experienced in direct client representation.
