Your application will not be received. / To apply, follow the link belowto the Attorney General’s Office direct application page.* * https://ago-ma.igreentree.com/CSS_External/CSSPage_Welcome.ASP/ / Assistant Attorney General Criminal Bureau Gaming Enforcement Division (Boston) (Grant-funded with benefits through June 2025) Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office in Boston to conduct investigations and prosecutions, specifically those involving crimes of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking inside the casinos, in the Gaming Enforcement Division within the Criminal Bureau. The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide team of prosecutors, investigators, and administrative and other staff, partnered with the Massachusetts State Police and charged with investigating and prosecuting gaming-related crimes pursuant to G.L. c. 12, § 11M. This position is funded by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission Community Mitigation Fund, Regional Agency Grant. Primary Duties: The Assistant Attorney General in the Gaming Enforcement Division will be involved in investigating and prosecuting crimes involving domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking stemming from the establishment and operation of casinos, pursuant to G.L. c. 23K. This is a unique position with the opportunity to build specific prosecutorial expertise in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking within the Gaming Enforcement Division, which is a statewide division. The prosecutions will primarily occur in Superior Court may also involve those in Springfield and Malden District Courts as well. Investigations involve working within a multi-disciplinary team, including victim witness advocates, law enforcement officers, financial investigators, as well as connecting with service providers, to approach and address human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assaults occurring within the casinos. The approach may involve victim and witness interviews, assessment of financial and documentary evidence, and search warrants. The Assistant Attorney General will be expected to handle a complex caseload and be charged with leading and coordinating investigations and prosecutions with State Police in conjunction with other prosecutors, victim/witness advocates, paralegals, and support staff. Additional functions will include screening potential cases, fostering relationships with industry stakeholders, participating in training, creating reports, providing district court coverage, and working cohesively with others in the Office of the Attorney General. All employees assigned to the Gaming Enforcement Division are subject to the Enhanced Code of Ethics adopted pursuant to G.L. c. 12, § 11M(c). Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt. This is a full-time, temporary position with benefits that terminates on June 30, 2025. The position is grant-funded with the possibility of renewal. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions. Knowledge of, or ability to gain understanding of, Massachusetts statutes involving the prosecution of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment. Must be willing to learn, eager to be challenged, and comfortable appearing in court. We are seeking a team player with legal writing experience and effective communication skills. Must be self-motivated, disciplined, ethical, and possess the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making. Experience conducting grand jury investigations, as well as trial experience in Superior Court or U.S. District Court, is highly desirable. Although this position is based in Boston, the successful candidate will be required to travel, as needed, to other areas of the Commonwealth in support of investigations.
