Job Description

Position Overview

The Director Facilities reports into the Vice President of Operations Support. This is a new role within the organization tasked with overseeing our new centralized warehouse and training center in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The role will direct the long term and day-to-day operations of the facility and be the onsite management representative for other employees on site with remote management. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in facilities management and working with direct and indirect employees. They will help drive the utilization and expansion of this new facility and the people that will be based there by providing a safe, clean, and well-managed working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and prioritize the long-term planning and goals of the facility – including coordination with key stakeholders across the organization that will have a presence within the facility.

  • Maintain day-to-day operations of the facility, such as delegating or completing maintenance / repair work orders, cleaning of the facility, administrative duties such as inventory management, invoicing, utilities, and tour facilitation.

  • Manage the in-house inventory and repair-shop personnel.

  • Monitor and audit the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.

  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.

  • Ensuring the proper security measures for the facility, including collaborating with security system vendors and a team of security professionals.

  • Create and maintain reports for safety, budgeting, maintenance, repairs, and other occurrences for upper management and other relevant staff.

  • Manage relationships between other departments that use the facility, contractors, and service providers.

  • Manage building equipment & spares inventory.

  • Manage the electrical, generator, UPS, fire suppression, HVAC, and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.

  • Manage preventative and predictive maintenance program.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Eight (8+) years of facilities and team management experience.

  • General understanding all facets of commercial building maintenance and repair.

  • Demonstrated experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or SAP.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

​Preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher post high school education.

  • General understanding of warehouse and large-component repair facilities.

  • Self-starter, ambitious and comfortable working with and without direction.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of professionalism.
