The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting PacificSource\'s Medical Management Technology product(s). The position is a cross functional role, acting as a liaison between our business operations teams, IT development teams, and many others (Claims, Analytics, etc.) to ensure effective delivery of requirements. Working closely with Information Technology (IT) and business units, supporting the coordination, tracking, and reporting of user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serve as a contact between Health Services (HS) Business Stakeholders and IT development teams tied to Medical Management product(s).
- Lead the coordination, tracking, and reporting of user acceptance testing (UAT) activities
- Ensure that the UAT backlog is visible, transparent and clear to all; and works with both business and IT teams to determine what needs to be worked on next.
- Work closely with HS and IT Teams to support complete requirements gathering and documentation.
- Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into requirements.
- Work closely and effective with internal teams, including HS Directors, IT Managers, developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance and operations.
- Ensure requirements are fully understood and that any implementation plans match expectations.
- Aid in the development and execution of customer training on how to use the product.
- Involved in IT Plan of Record (POR) planning for initiatives tied to Medical Management product(s)
- Support the development of robust metrics reporting, operational dashboards, and ROI analysis.
- Define success criteria for testing and product acceptance. Coordinate with the business and participate in QA test iterations.
- Solicit team member collaboration on issues and problems.
Supporting Responsibilities:
- Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.
- Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.
- Ensure compliance with standards, policies, procedures, requirements, and regulations.
- Assist in piloting new hardware and/or software and determine capabilities and/or limitations.
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUCCESS PROFILE
Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years\' in healthcare industry required. A business analyst role in a healthcare industry preferred. Experience working with multiple project management styles including waterfall, agile and/or others preferred.
Education, Certificates, Licenses: BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Business, healthcare related field or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge: Good understanding of software development life cycle models, as well as working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or other project management principles and practices. Ability to make decisions and ut an end to any debate. Ability to use storytelling to \"paint a picture\" of the product. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business. Demonstrated ability to project manage multiple, parallel projects and staff requirements. Excellent computer skills, including experience with project and software development management tools such as Microsoft Project, and/or MS Team Foundation Server/or equivalent Agile software development tools. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent math skills required, including percentages, ratios, graphing, and spreadsheet skills. Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, detail oriented, and flexible. Excellent observation skills with proven ability to think critically and analyze complex systems. Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgment, including measured risks and timely escalation.
