rrPosition Summary:
rThe Education Specialist and Community Outreach Coordinator provides college and career training support services to participants looking to enroll in a postsecondary program. This position would conduct outreach and recruitment efforts within the community and provide one-on-one advising services. Duties for this position include: outreach and recruitment, participant advising, participant records retention, and other activities to fulfill grant objectives.
Duties may include:
- Coordinating and conducting outreach, recruitment, and retention efforts for program participants
- Developing and fostering community partnerships
- Conducting presentations and workshops at college, agency, and community events as needed for recruitment and outreach
- Providing one-on-one advising for participants by assessing educational needs, capabilities, and goals of participants
- Assisting participants with career exploration, admissions, financial aid, and enrollment processes
- Maintaining accurate records of participants for case management and annual reporting
- Developing and delivering college preparatory programming or complementary services, including, but not limited to career exploration, post-secondary admissions and financial aid processes, financial literacy
rrMinimum Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree
{=html} <!-- --> - Working with concepts and factors related to support and opportunities for underserved populations - Delivering program activities and topics to the community - Working with and/or understanding the needs of diverse populations, such as low-income communities, individuals with disabilities, veterans, incarcerated and justice impacted communities, refugees, individuals with trauma, or other similar populations. - Using computer software and applications for word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet research
rrPreferred Qualifications:

- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
- Public speaking and communication skills
Knowledge of:
- the college going process and procedures
- Knowledge of: local, state, and federal laws relating to the program purpose and goals
Experience with:
- Advising students pursuing postsecondary programs, including traditional academic programs and career training programs.
- Major program planning, coordination and implementation; developing professional, productive relationships across a community in order to provide services; program evaluation
- Managing and analyzing data related to program metrics and recommending changes
