Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Innovation team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Build software following given requirements, working closing with development team.
Work closely with Product Owner and other SMEs to interpret requirements and translate them to software solutions for multiple projects.
With strong creativity and skill, create intuitive UIs which make it easy for users to navigate applications.
Support team to design & develop proof of concepts to show value.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
2+ years working with React, Node.js and Python.
2+ years working with fluency on Linux environment with command line and shell scripting.
2+ years working with SQL.
Working knowledge of MongoDB.
Have broad and deep technical knowledge, ranging from front-end UIs through to back-end systems.
Working knowledge of version control software such as Git.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-directed - works effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Strong technical knowledge & experience in development.
