Position Specific Description

Position Overview: The PV Solar Field Tech Leader is a key role responsible for leading and overseeing a team of PV solar field technicians. As a leader in the field, you will ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. The PV Solar Field Tech Leader will play a critical role in ensuring the success of solar projects and maintaining high standards of performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of PV solar field technicians, ensuring teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work environment. Coach and mentor team members while promoting professional development opportunities.

  • Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and execute PV solar projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Coordinate team activities and allocate resources effectively.

  • Maintenance: Oversee the, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of PV solar systems, including modules, inverters, racking systems, and electrical components. Ensure compliance with design specifications and technical standards.

  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with PV solar systems. Lead repair and maintenance activities, ensuring timely resolution of problems to minimize downtime and maximize system performance.

  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain a strong safety culture on-site, promoting adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety trainings, inspections, and audits to minimize workplace hazards and foster a safe working environment.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and repairs. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to management, highlighting project progress, issues, and recommendations.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure proper installation, operation, and maintenance of PV solar systems. Perform inspections and quality checks to verify compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to procure equipment, tools, and materials required for PV solar projects. Manage relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate performance to ensure high-quality services and timely deliveries.

Job Overview

The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Experience: 5+ years

  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Licensed Electrician

  • Licensed Master Electrician

  • Cable Locating Principles&Techniques Cer

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

The base pay for this position is $88,800.00 to $133,200.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
