Aerotek Machine Operator in Bluffton, Indiana

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We have an immediate opening for machine operators/button pushers. Candidates do not need specific machine operation or stamping press experience but must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for operating one of the 20 presses, working in teams of up to four people. You will place raw material on the press and, as a safety precaution, all team members must place their hands on the sensor to operate the press. Once a part comes out of the press, you will visually inspect it and may need to use a gauge to ensure it meets specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate one of the 20 presses

  • Work in teams to place raw material on the press

  • Ensure safety by placing hands on the sensor to operate the press

  • Visually inspect parts after they come out of the press

  • Use gauges to verify parts meet specifications

Essential Skills

  • Machine operation

  • Inspection

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Ability to lift 45 lbs

  • Wearing steel-toed boots

  • Maintaining a steady job history

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with steel/stamping

  • Press operation experience

Work Environment

This is a metal stamping company that supports the automotive and heavy equipment industries. The environment is loud and not temperature controlled, so it can get hot in the summer. The culture is very laid back, and everyone works as a team. The facility is UAW Union, but not all employees are required to join. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toed boots.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, Indiana .

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.32 - $17.97/hr.
