Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
As a Field Service Technician, you will travel locally within the Twin Cities for the majority of the time, with occasional overnight travel once or twice a quarter. Your primary role will be to troubleshoot and repair various pieces of equipment using your knowledge of hydraulics and electronics. This position involves direct customer interaction and communication to ensure optimal service delivery.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot problems on various pieces of equipment using knowledge of hydraulics and electronics.
Operate hand tools and equipment.
Initiate ordering of necessary parts for repairs.
Complete required paperwork.
Check all functions, leaks, loose fittings, tolerances, and torque specs.
Test pressures and record them on the test sheet.
Communicate with the supervisor regarding job-related issues.
Assist in scheduling daily tasks and promoting future work to meet utilization requirements.
Make recommendations for procedural or job function changes in the general interest.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding of equipment used in the industry.
Basic math skills.
Knowledge of wiring stop/start systems and the ability to use a programmer.
Mechanical design and practical experience in hydraulics, structural, or mechanical layout.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical college degree or completion of a structured on-the-job training program.
2 years’ experience in field service of heavy equipment.
Current Federal Medical Examination Card and the ability to obtain a DOT Card.
Proficiency in operating a saw for cutting steel, a plasma cutter, and an oxygen/acetylene torch.
Ability to adjust pressures and reliefs.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $83200.00/yr.
$4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service
Union wage scale after 90 days
